Called in Japan a dekomon, the name sumo is the American marketing handle for the world’s largest mandarin orange, a seedless tangerine variety known for its loose, easy-to-peel skin and delicious, balanced taste — sweet but still a bit tart.
They are commercially available now in California. This is the first season the dekomon has appeared in stores. If you see any, snap up a few. They are very good.

Large and in charge. Big and beautiful. You get the idea.
